NEW TUTORIAL: Rustic Charm for Your Christmas Card List

Hello Reader,

Looking for a Christmas card with a rustic, masculine feel? Today’s card pairs the Noel Tidings Bundle with Alpine Winter Designer Series Paper for a warm and woodsy season’s greeting.

Earthy greens and browns frame the beautiful pinecone pattern, while a simple sentiment banner takes center stage. A loose twine bow and a trio of embellishments add just the right finishing touch!

Pretty Pointer: Let your Designer Series Paper inspire your color palette. Pull a few coordinating colors from the pattern for layers that look right at home together.

measure & cut (from bottom to top):

card base:

  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 (side)

layers (before die-cutting/punching):

  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4
  • Early Espresso Cardstock: 3 3/4 x 5
  • Alpine Winter Designer Series Paper: 2 3/4 x 4 1/2
  • Alpine Winter Designer Series Paper: 3 1/4 X 3 1/4
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 4 1/2 x 1 (sentiment)

envelope flap:

  • Alpine Winter Designer Series Paper: 5 3/4 x 2 1/4

stamp (clear blocks or stamp positioner):

  • Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso Classic Ink onto the Crumb Cake Cardstock.

crop, cut, assemble, adhere (from bottom to top) & embellish:

  • Burnish the fold of the card base with a Bone Folder.
  • Layer and adhere the wood grain dsp, Early Espresso and Mossy Meadow cardstock together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the pinecone dsp as shown with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Use a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (Standard or Mini) to crop the sentiment with the coordinating Noel Tidings die. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Tie a bow of Linen Thread. Adhere as shown with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Embellish with three Mossy Meadow Natural Matte Dots.

envelope:

  • Adhere the 5 3/4 x 2 1/4 Designer Series Paper to a Basic White Medium envelope flap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Tip: Add glue to the flap, not the Designer Series Paper.
